Sephora Sale 2020

Twice a year Sephora has their big sale where your discount and savings starts date reflects your rewards status.  Rouge members get 20% (10/3-11/9), VIB get 15% off (11/3-11/9) and Insiders get 10% off (11/5-11/9).  Anyone can be an Insider and save 10% but in order to qualify for the 15 or 20% off you must spend a certain amount of money each year.

I was lucky enough to be able to shop with an employee friends and family discount last week and saved 20% off.  So I snagged a few items I wanted to try.  This is when I typically replenish my skincare because saving 20% off is worth it and I've been very big on "cleaner" products.  I also took advantage of the sale and got a holiday set that I have a feeling will sell out.

Purchased
Since I was able to grab a few items before the sale, I may replenish anything I may be out of for my skincare.  Since I'm no longer breastfeeding I have less restrictions when it comes to ingredients.

Mini Juicy All The Way Lip Jelly Set - This will probably be a stocking stuffer for myself.  I actually prefer to buy my own gifts.  Scott and the girls do surprise me with a few things, but I like knowing and getting what I want.  I grabbed this lip jelly set because I have the full size of the dark purple shade.  I absolutely love it and it smells amazing.  Best of all the ingredients are clean!

Drunk Elephant: Dewy Polypeptide Kit - This year Drunk Elephant came out with a number of limited edition holiday kids.  I usually stock up on "The Littles" but I grabbed this one because I love the larger size of the Polypeptide Cream and wanted to try out the retinol before I invest in a larger size.  I also have not used their butter cleanser before but love the milk micellar water they make so I'm excited to see how it compares.

Rahua Voluminous Dry Shampoo - This is a bit of a splurge for dry shampoo but it has amazing reviews, it's clean, and I'm willing to try anything at this point.  I usually use the Living Proof dry shampoo but I think that may actually make my hair greasier some days.  It's usually okay for day 2 or 3 but if I want to go 4 days, nope.  I like the ingredients in this one as it is clean and plant based.

Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer - Ilia makes my holy grail products.  Their True Skin Serum Foundation and the Super Serum Skin Tint are my favorites.  I also have their concealer but I needed a lighter shade to brighten my undereyes.

Briogeo Vegan Boar Bristle Brush - I bought this for myself but if it works well I may use it on my oldest.  This isn't that much more expensive then a Wet Brush and we are still trying to find a brush that will get the knots out of my daughter's hair.  I've heard this one is comparable to the fancy Christophe Robin one that retails for $108.

Skincare and Hair Recommendations

Drunk Elephant makes my absolute favorite skincare.  I started really taking care of my skin at 30 and I'm 32 now.  I wish I had started sooner.  I also use Skinceuticals but Sephora doesn't carry their products.

Holiday Gifts

One of the great things about a lot of these holiday gifts is that you can break them apart and create little gifts for your friends.  This is especially true with the Tarte items and I have to say the lip gloss set is one of my favorites.  I have it and the colors are gorgeous.

Splurges

One of the splurge items that I would absolutely love is the Dyson Straightener.  I have the blow dryer and the curling wand.  I actually got mine brand new on Facebook Marketplace which was amazing.  I've heard great things about the straightener and I honestly straighten my hair more than I curl it.  Even with the 20% for Rouge it is still expensive.
