5 Minute Mama Makeup

*This post is not sponsored.  I purchased all these products.  Some links below are affiliate links.

Let's face it.  Nobody has the time to do a full face of makeup these days.  I would be lucky to even have 10 minutes to do makeup unless my kids are sleeping and if they are sleeping then I want to be sleeping too.  But sometimes we need to look semi put together to feel like ourselves which is why I wanted to share what I do when I only have 5 minutes in the morning to "put my face on."  Keep in mind those five minutes don't include my morning skincare routine which takes probably close or less than 3 minutes.

There are 7 products that I recommend for a 5 minute face.  For me to have a "no makeup" makeup look I recommend under eye concealer, setting powder, mascara, blush, bronzer, and lipstick/gloss.  If you want to reduce it to 6 products you could try one of the blush/bronzer duos.

I am in no way a beauty blogger.

That will probably become apparent based on my photos, but let's face it, sometimes you need to see a "real mom" do what she needs to do to make herself look pretty.  I also have NO FILTERS on my photos.  I just adjusted the lighting to brighten the photos because the room with my vanity doesn't have the best lighting.  I also know that when I do a full face of makeup, I do it the complete opposite of most beauty bloggers.  I like to start with my eyes because sometimes I end up with eyeshadow under my eye that I want to wipe off and if I already applied concealer than that ends up coming off too.  I'll share a full makeup look for another day.

So here's what I use daily if I do a "no makeup, makeup" look.  One thing to note about my makeup routine, I lean towards the cleaner beauty products.  That doesn't mean that all my products I use everyday are clean beauty, but I try to avoid Talc unless something I already own has it.  I won't buy new stuff with Talc.

Face:

Primer/Sunscreen:

Coola Daydream Mineral Primer SPF 30

is my new favorite primer.  It is weightless.  I would probably still use it even if I used a different primer.  I just love the consistency of the product for a layer of SPF protection.

Concealer:  I have 3 different concealers that I alternate pretty regularly.  Each one in my opinion does something different.  I like the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer when my skin feels dry.  It is super lightweight and moisturizing.  Everyone says the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is the "holy grail" of all concealers.  I definitely like it, but I have found that you really need to set it well for it to not crease.  Lastly, I like the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer.  This one is the most brightening and makes me look more awake, but I can't apply do a thorough job applying it with the applicator so typically I apply it with a swipe and then use a damp beauty blender dupe or one of my CVS 360 Mini Blender Sponges

.

Powder:  I mainly use Clove and Hallow Pressed Mineral Foundation.  (The compact case has to be purchased separately).  This is very sheer and I use this all over my face and to set my concealer.  If I were to do a full face of makeup, I would use my Ilia Soft Focus Finishing Powder for my concealer.

Bronzer/Blush Palette: This is a bit of a splurge but you will see why it is so great.  You can literally use this palette for your eyes and your cheeks.  It is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Volume 4.  If you don't want to get the palette with the six colors you can always look at the one with the 3 shades.  I know the six shade palette was limited edition and now only available from Hourglass directly.  You can get the three shade at Sephora and Nordstrom.  I use the bronzer for my face and eyes, the blush for my face and a little highlighter on my brow bone and on my nose.

Eyes:

Eyeshadow: Just a little bronzer does the trick.

Eyebrows: I feel like eyebrows make a face.  I don't know why, it's probably because I have very light eyebrows and my look changes when they are fuller.  For eyebrows I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in the colors Auburn and Taupe.  I mix the two because my eyebrows are lighter than my hair.

Mascara:  If I have the time then I like to curl, use a my Lancome CILS Booster XL primer, and create a mascara cocktail on my lashes.  If my time is limited, I skip curling my eyelashes and the primer and just use one mascara.  I will either Benefit Roller Lash or Lancome Monsieur Big

.

Lips:

Lipgloss/Lipstick:  Whatever I grab.  I've been leaning towards the Tarte Quench Lip Rescue but I also love MAC Powder Kiss Lipsticks and the NYX Lipglosses (Creme Brulee and Vanilla Creme Pie are my favorites).

I hope this helps some of you out there with limited time in the morning.  One thing I wanted to add is that because I have red hair, fair skin and freckles even when I use foundation, I don't use anything full coverage because I don't look like me.  If you see me one day with freckles and the next day without it would be a little strange.

So here you have it.  This is the finished look.  The lighting in my house is not great and the makeup look is way better in person.  You will just have to take my word for it, or follow me on Instagram (instagram.com/diapersanddonuts) to really get a better look of it in my stories.
