Making Friends

I think the hardest part about moving is not knowing anyone and making new friends. My kids never have a problem making friends. We go to a playground or a park and they immediately find someone to play with or run up and introduce themselves. I think it is definitely more difficult for adults, especially with precautions around Covid. We are lucky to have found a community with families for the girls to play with and everyone has been very welcoming.

I downloaded the Peanut app which is basically a “finding mom friends” app. I haven’t met up with anyone yet but its nice to know that other moms in my area are also looking to connect.

Now that we’ve lived in Texas for 2 months, we are looking to get the girls involved in more activities. We obviously can’t do everything but it’ll be nice to meet other parents while the girls have fun.

We lived in our old community for 10 years. My girls had friends that they grew up with since they were very young. B’s best friend she met when she was around 3 months. It’s definitely a change and it will for sure take time. Personally I think Scott has an easier time making friends than me. He’s got his colleagues at work whereas all my mom friends are mainly on social media and I would 100% love for all of them to be local but unfortunately they are not. Luckily we get to chat daily so that is a plus!
